Price Resigns Over Media Pressure on Private Planes – But Where Were the Media When Obama Officials Did the Same?

The Secretary of Health and Human Services, Tom Price, has tendered his resignation to president Trump which has been accepted. For now, Don Wright, Deputy of HHS, will step in as acting Secretary. But what is the real story here? Is it that Price used chartered jets for travel? Or is that this is another “scalp” for the media to revel over when they pointedly ignored the exact same “crimes” when committed by Obama officials?

Let’s be very clear here, Price was wrong to use private jets that cost the taxpayer money (around $400,000 at best estimate), but this is no reason for the press to ignore the same thing from Democrats…It just shows off their bias and hypocrisy.

According to Fox News, a number of high-profile people in the Obama administration used private planes, even for personal trips, including ” then-attorney generals Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch, then-FBI director Robert Mueller, and then-CIA director and defense secretary Leon Panetta.”

And whilst private planes are permissible for government use in matters of National Security, it would appear that the usage here is highly questionable. For example:

“In 2014, Holder, while attorney general, boarded a government-owned Gulfstream and flew to the Belmont Stakes Thoroughbred horse race in New York with his daughters, their boyfriends and two security officers.” Apparently, this trip cost the taxpayer $14,440, but Holder only had to pay out $955. Isn’t this almost exactly what Price was doing?

And what of former AG Loretta Lynch? When she had the “tarmac meeting” it was, according to her, just a personal chat about golf and grandkids. So why did she have use of a private plane? She either lied about the meeting or is guilty of the same “high crimes” as Tom Price.

Smells of hypocrisy to me.
