Trump Lights White House Blue in Honor of Law Enforcement

Donald Trump showed support for law enforcement by lighting the white house up in blue Monday night. The move is the start of Police Week, a time to honor the 118 officers who died and 66 others who were injured in 2016. Trump visited the U.S. Capitol earlier Monday to pay tribute to all law enforcement officers. He gave remarks at an event held on a lawn in front of the building:

Former President Barack Obama had a chance to light the white house in blue following the attack on police officers in Dallas last July, however, Obama was more concerned with lighting the white house in rainbow colors after the Supreme Court ruling that allowed same-sex couples nationwide to marry in June 2015.

Trump pledged to be a strong supporter of law enforcement during his campaign. One of his promises was to return law and order to the country. Lighting the white house blue seems to be an excellent start!
