U.S. Forces Unleash The Mother Of All Bombs On ISIS

On Thursday, April 13th, the U.S. dealt a crippling blow to the “JV team.” The Air Force dropped the largest conventional bomb in their arsenal on an ISIS controlled tunnel complex in Afghanistan. Nicknamed the Mother Of All Bombs the GBU-43B/Mass Ordinance Air Blast is every daesh-bags worst nightmare. This marks the first time that it was used in a real world scenario. It was originally developed for use in Iraq and tested in 2003.

The target was a complex nest of caves and tunnels in Nangarhar, a mountainous region of Iraq which was used by ISIS as a sanctuary and operations center.

The MOAB explodes approximately 6 feet above the ground, sending a rapid downward blast of air pressure, which can blow through tunnels and caves. This simply makes it the right tool for the job.  Commander of US forces in Afghanistan, Gen. John Nicholson, signed off on deploying the bomb.

“This is the right munition to reduce these obstacles and maintain the momentum of our offensive against ISIS.” – General Nicholson

A MOAB is 30 feet long, weighs 21,600 lbs. and has an explosive yield of 0.011 kilotons. Because of its’ sheer size the bomb was jettisoned out of the rear of a MC-130 cargo plane.

At least 36 daesh militants were killed in the massive blast. Due to the target’s remote location it is believed that no civilians were harmed.

DOD released footage of the MOAB being dropped on ISIS:

Brace yourself for the barrage of screeching snowflakes and jihadist rhetoric.
