Watch: Plot To Blow Up Naval Base Thwarted By FBI, 2 In Custody

The FBI say they have two Chicago men in custody who were planning to blow up a Naval base during graduation ceremonies.   Joseph D. “Yusuf Abdulhaqq” Jones and Edward “Abdul Wali” Schimenti appeared in federal court Wednesday afternoon. Federal search warrants were executed on Jones’ Zion residence Wednesday morning.

Feds say Schimenti was gathering the courage to launch some sort of attack at Naval Station Great Lakes.  The FBI recorded several conversations between Schimenti and others.  In one such conversation Schimenti says he was considering attacking the Naval graduation that takes place on “Buckley.”  The Great Lakes Navy base is located on Buckley Street in Chicago.

The FBI was tracking Jones and Schimenti since 2015 since they became involved with a pair of undercover FBI agents and a federal informant.

Thank God the FBI stopped these terrorists before they were able to carry out their sinister plan.
